We are proud to offer two ways to be a part of
the Connecticut College Choral Community:
Chorale (Vocal Ensemble) (1 credit)
Tuesdays and Thursdays
6:00 – 7:00 pm
Chorale is a mixed ensemble of approximately 30-40 members and is open to all students, faculty, staff, and members of the community by placement audition. This ensemble performs one concert a term and participates in community events. This ensemble focuses on developing the fundamentals of singing and artistry through a diverse repertoire from the Medieval period to the 21st Century. Concert attire is also required.
Camel Heard (Vocal Ensemble) (1 credit)
Tuesday and Thursdays: 4:15-5:45 pm
Camel Heard is an advanced treble vocal ensemble of approximately 12-16 members open to majors and non-majors by audition. This ensemble performs a diverse repertoire from the Medieval period to the 21st Century. Camel Heard performs two concerts a term, participates in community events, and engages in outreach performances in the Spring Term. Membership is reserved for students who demonstrate music-reading ability and advanced vocal technique and who possess experience singing in advanced choral ensembles. Camel Heard rehearses regularly Tuesday and Thursday, 4:15-5:45 pm, as well with the Chorale on selected Mondays at the end of the term. A yearlong commitment is required for those beginning in the fall and three semesters for those entering in the spring. Concert attire is also required.
The Chorale and Camel Heard are directed by Professor Rachel Feldman for 2019-2020 while Professor Wendy Moy is on sabbatical.
